In-person Service Update For 6-21-2020

Reopening Plans

 

  • Phase 1: Begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2020
    • Wednesday evening Bible Study will be the only in-person service conducted during this phase
    • Bible Study/Sunday School Hour will remain online at 8:45a.m.
    • Sunday Morning Worship will remain as a Drive-in service at 11:00 a.m.
    • Sunday Evening Service will remain online at 6:00p.m.
    • Teen service will be available on Wednesday while abiding by safety guidelines.
    • Child care will be available on Wednesday for newborns-4 years old.
        • We will require parents to stand six feet apart during pick up and drop off while observing social distancing lines marked on the ground outside of nurseries.
        • The forehead of children entering the nurseries and classrooms will be scanned for temperature with a contactless thermometers. If the child has a fever of 99.9 or higher, the parent will be asked to take him home and watch the services online.
        • If a child has had a fever of 99,9 or higher in the last 24 hours, please keep him at home for the well-being of workers and other children.
        • If it is determined during a service that a child is sick, the parent will be called immediately.
        • Snacks and drinks will not be provided by the Ministry for children.
        • A maximum of 10 children will be allowed in a nursery or classroom.
        • We will minimize the amount of toys and materials within each nursery/classroom.
        • We will prevent the sharing of toys and materials among the children. We will encourage children to play with toys individually with puzzles, blocks, coloring pages, etc. and not in groups.

 

    • Because of the dangers related to COVID-19, we are advising all who are 65 and older and those of all ages who have underlying health conditions such as breathing conditions, cancer treatments, suppressed immune systems to individually assess their personal situation to whether they should stay home and continue worshipping via livestream during Phase I of our return.
    • It may be necessary for those folks to stay away from “crowds” longer than Phase I, however, we must start with this safety suggestion.
      • Who Is at Risk? Based on what we know now, those at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 are:
        • People 65 years and older People of all ages with underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, including:
          • People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
          • People who have serious heart conditions
          • People who are immunocompromised
    • Signs indicating our procedures will be posted around our church campus, and shall be observed by members and guests on return to the campus.
    • No one should plan to attend services who is known to have had any contact with known COVID-19 confirmed case.
    • Attenders are asked to maintain six feet of distance when speaking to one another.
    • Attenders are welcomed to wear a mask or face covering.
    • Hand sanitizer will be available and attenders are encouraged to wash hands regularly.
    • All entrances will be maned with a greater to open the door upon your arrival. Auditorium doors will be propped open to avoid the touching of door handles.
    • Attenders will be seated before the services. Families will sit together. There will be 2-3 empty seats between families. Distancing will be kept in all directions—front, back, left, and right.
    • Overflow will be available in the fellowship hall after the auditorium is filled.
    • All hymnals will be removed from the auditorium in a effort to reduce the amount of shared items.
    • Offering plates will not be passed during the services.
    • At the end of the services, attenders will be dismissed in a controlled orderly manner maintaining social distancing.
    • Attenders are encouraged to promptly return home and refrain from fellowshipping, in the building, at the end of the service.
    • We will not be distributing a service bulletin or printed outline.
    • No coffee or food will be shared on campus
    • Playground will be closed.
    • While MVBC has always maintained high quality standards for cleaning our facilities, many adjustments have been made in order to prevent illness from spreading in our common areas.
    • Handles to all restroom and closet doors are being sanitized before and after each service.
    • Counters, tables, and Guest Service Counters are being sanitized before and after each service.
    • Drinking fountains are being sanitized before and after each service.
    • Light switches are sanitized before and after every service.
    • Toilets, urinals, and sinks will be sanitized before and after every service.
    • Counters and surfaces will be sanitized before and after every service.
    • Handles to all entry/exit doors are being sanitized before and after each service.
    • After each service, each chair will be sanitized.
    • After each service, we will remove all trash and left over personal items from the auditorium.
    • All toys, chairs, counters, and tables will be disinfected after each service.
    • Nurseries will be disinfected after each service.

 

 

  • Phase 2: Begin on Sunday, May 31, 2020
    • Bible Study will remain online, broadcast on Saturdays at 10:00a.m. through individual Bible Study Groups on Facebook. Beginning June 6th.
    • Kids Church online at 10:00a.m.
    • Sunday Morning Worship will be in-person at 8:45a.m. & 11:00a.m.
      • The 8:45a.m. service will be reserved for those who are 65 and older and those of all ages who have underlying health conditions such as breathing conditions, cancer treatments, or suppressed immune systems.
    • Sunday Evening Service will remain online at 6:00p.m.
    • Wednesday evening Bible Study will be in-person at 6:30p.m.
    • Teen service will be available on Wednesday while abiding by safety guidelines.
    • Child care will be available on Sunday at 11:00a.m. &  Wednesday for newborns-4 years old.
    • Most guidelines detailed for Phase I will remain in place.

 

 

  • Phase 2.1: Begin on Sunday, June 21, 2020
    • Bible Study will remain online.
    • Kids Church Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. in the Annex
    • Sunday Morning Worship will be in-person at 8:45a.m. & 11:00a.m.
      • The 8:45a.m. service will be reserved for those who are 65 and older and those of all ages who have underlying health conditions such as breathing conditions, cancer treatments, or suppressed immune systems.
    • Sunday Evening Service will open to in-person at 6:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday evening Bible Study will be in-person at 6:30 p.m.
    • Teen service will be available on Wednesday while abiding by safety guidelines.
    • Child care will be available for newborns-5 years old during Sunday services and newborn-3 years old on Wednesdays.
    • Most guidelines detailed for Phase 2 will remain in place.

 

  • Phase 3 – The New Normal: Estimated to begin Sunday, July 26, 2020
    • Bible Study/Sunday School Hour will be in-person and return to 10:00a.m.
    • Sunday Morning Worship will be in-person at 8:45a.m. & 11:00a.m.
      • These services will be encouraged to return to the previous attendance pattern prior to the pause of in-person services.
    • Sunday Evening Service will be in-person at 6:00p.m.
    • Wednesday evening Bible Study will be in-person at 6:30p.m.
    • Child ministries will resume in its entirety while still following health and safety procedures.
